One-On-One Consultations

At the center of our service delivery strategy is the one-on-one consultation.   Every client receives one-on-one counseling with a CAP client manager and a customized action plan is developed to help the client achieve firm-specific goals.  The services CAP provides include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Business plan evaluation and preparation;
  • Strategic business plan development (Our One Page Strategic Business Plan); 
  • Loan packaging*;
  • Business certification assistance;
  • Adult financial literacy training;
  • Business aftercare services (post-engagement management and technical assistance);
  • helping conduct business research;
  • forming a Louisiana corporation, LLC or partnership; 
  • securing an EIN, as well as state and city tax IDs, licenses and permits; 
  • helping develop a business banking relationship and more.

Start Smart in New Orleans Business Planning CD. We developed the Start Smart Business Planning CD with entrepreneurs in mind. And best of all it's FREE (with a one-on-one consultation). The CD contains over 100 files, forms, workbooks, agency contacts and other tools an entrepreneur needs to start and manage a successful business in New Orleans.  Topics include:

  • Starting a Business in New Orleans 
  • Forming a Corporation or LLC
  • Filing a Patent, Trademark or Copyright and more

Business Aftercare Program. Clients will be assisted in identifying a qualified attorney, accountant, insurance and marketing firm to help manage the business.  CAP will continue to monitor a client's ever-changing business needs and assist with other management and technical assistance when necessary. 

 

Seminars and Adult Financial Literacy Training. Since 2003, CAP has partnered with the New Orleans Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and the City of New Orleans to host seminars that educate entrepreneurs on how to build and run their businesses more effectively.  The seminars cover topics such as how to form and register your company, marketing your small business, and building business credit.  Over 1,750 individuals have attended the business development seminars.
